Paper notation sheets will be the only medium to notate, and must be visible to both players on the table. You can write down your move before or after you move the piece.

Time Control:
All games will be played at 90 minutes per player with 5 second delay.

Draws:
Draws need to be offered on your turn to move.  Draws can be declined by making a turn or verbally saying “No.”
  • 3 move repetition is a draw
  • Making 50 moves with no Pawn move is a draw
  • Stalemate and insufficient material are also a draw

Tie Breaks:
USCF rules dictate that any monetary prize must be split between tied players, we will not be able to do a blitz off like normal.

Touch Move:
Touch moves are in effect. If you touch a piece you must move it, if you touch your opponent's piece you must take it.

Byes:
Byes may be requested.

Other:
Absolutely no interfering with other players games, this will result in a immediate disqualification to the player interfering with no refund.

Cheating is an automatic disqualification.  Cheating can be purposefully affecting the outcome of the game by unfair means, such as but not limited to receiving outside help, or moving pieces when your opponent is not looking.

Cell phones must be turned off in the play area.   Cell phone usage is not allowed in the play hall area at any time.

Any disputes or rule infractions will be resolved by Tournament Director, Tanner Feemster.
