This recent video was produced by the US Chess Federation (USCF).  It features children from the 2019 National Elementary (K-6) Championship explaining what chess means to them. 

Whether for competition or enrichment (or both), the game is for young and old as one of kids say "Old people shouldn't be forced to learn chess, but if they want to learn chess, surely they can!"
