Rounds
5 rounds of play with Swiss system pairing Time Control 40 minutes per player with 5 second delay Chess sets/clocks and notation sheets will be provided. |

Notation
All games be notated. Notation is no longer required when either player has 5 minutes left on their clock. Paper notation sheets will be the only medium to notate, and must be visible to both players on the table. You can write down your move before or after you move the piece. Time Control All games will be played at 40 minutes per player with 5 second delay. Draws Draws can be offered on your move or your opponents move. Draws can be declined by making a turn or verbally saying “No.”
Tie Breaks In the event of a tie break for any of the cash prizes, there will be a final blitz head-to-head, round-robin playoff round using USCF blitz rules. The 1st place player will receive the 1st place prize and the 2nd place of that playoff round will receive the 2nd place prize, if any. In the event that players tie after the round-robin, they will split the prize. Other Touch moves are in effect. If you touch a piece you must move it, if you touch your opponent's piece you must take it. Byes may be given to players when there is an odd number of players in a section. A Bye gives 1 point. Byes are given by discretion from the computer. You can not request a Bye. Absolutely no interfering with other players games, this will result in a immediate disqualification to the player interfering with no refund. Cheating is an automatic disqualification. Cheating can be purposefully affecting the outcome of the game by unfair means, such as but not limited to receiving outside help, or moving pieces when your opponent is not looking. Cell phones must be turned off in the play area. Cell phone usage is not allowed in the play hall area at any time. Any disputes or rule infractions will be resolved by Tournament Director, Tanner Feemster. |

Sign-In
All players who are registered will sign-in at the entrance. Unregistered players can register and pay on-site if space permits. Sign-in and registration is from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. The venue is in Fox Hall which is adjacent and behind the hotel. There is plenty of free parking. Tournament Play Area Only the players are permitted in the tournament play area. No food or beverages (except water) are allowed in the play area. Lounge Area Visitors, parents and players who finished games may relax, eat or play skittles in the lounge are which will be set-up with tables and chairs adjacent to the play area. Beverages and Food Beverages and food can be taken to the lounge area. There will be complimentary coffee and tea for players and visitors in the lounge. Lunch options are either to bring your own lunch/drinks or purchase them from one of the restaurants or fast food places in the area (see below). Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in Fox Hall for the duration of the tournament. Nearby Food Establishments The following food establishments are within one mile (map).
